Mother's Day

I was just thinking about Mom and thought I'd post this picture of her.  She probably wouldn't think it was a very good picture of herself, but I love it.  It was taken on Mother's Day 1979.  So mom was 59 years old and Dad was my age.  It's just so Mom and Dad to me!  Notice the twinkle in both Dad's and Mom's eyes.  And notice that Dad got Mom a corsage.  I love that!!  No one ever gets me a corsage and I would love it!!  None of my guys know I'd love that and they don't read my blog, so they'll probably never know.  Heaven forbid that I should say it out loud:  "I want a corsage."  Just doesn't sound right.

I really miss Mom.  She was a remarkable woman and the best mom ever.  Happy Mother's Day!!

  1. Great post Kathy! I think it was kind of the "thing" to do back then to get corsages for moms and wives for Mothers day. They would wear them to church. I always thought that was so neat. I don't see that very much nowadays. Well, Happy Mother's Day!! By the way, I love that picture too. I don't think I've ever seen it before!

  3. That was just a tiny little cutdown snapshot (1.75" x 2.5") that I scanned on my computer. The original looks a lot better but considering the size, I was surprised it turned out as good as it did. It had been in an old box of pictures that a couple of years ago I took out and put in a tiny little picture book for Mom for Mother's Day or her Birthday.
